Scaling Inclusive SRHR Through Community Leadership and Digital Access

TurningPoint’s current flagship project with AmplifyChange is strengthening disability-inclusive Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) nationwide — shifting from awareness to sustained, rights-based engagement led by persons with disabilities.

Dare to Dream – Promoting Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights of Persons with Disabilities

Coverage: Nationwide, Bangladesh
Focus: Inclusive SRHR • Digital advocacy • Community leadership

Persons with disabilities — particularly women and girls — often face stigma, misinformation, and inaccessible services. This project tackles both social attitudes and service accessibility, combining peer leadership, family engagement, and digital platforms so people can access reliable SRHR information and seek services safely and confidently.

What is changing now

From taboo to rights-based dialogue

Communities increasingly recognise SRHR as a human right, and persons with disabilities — especially women and girls — are leading peer education and community dialogue.

Stronger services and referral pathways

Collaboration with health providers and authorities is improving inclusive service delivery, strengthening referrals and increasing utilisation of SRHR support.

How we deliver results

Community leadership

Persons with disabilities lead sessions, peer education, and dialogue — building ownership that lasts beyond project timelines.

Safe spaces and safeguarding

Counselling, follow-up, and safe discussion spaces reduce stigma and enable people to seek support with dignity.

Digital access at scale

SRHR platforms and OPD-managed websites help communities access reliable information, even when services are hard to reach.

Story of change

Jasmine, a woman with a speech and hearing impairment, grew up facing harmful myths about marriage and motherhood. After joining a Dare to Dream awareness meeting with her family, misconceptions were challenged. She chose her partner, married, and recently had a healthy child. Today, Jasmine and her mother advocate for the rights of women with disabilities in their community.

Outcome: myths reduced • family support increased • women’s rights advocacy strengthened
